Alumni Spotlight: Jacob Bower

Meet Jacob Bower, a proud second-generation alumnus of the All-American Boys Chorus (AABC). Following in the footsteps of his father, Christopher—a bass who graduated in 1984—Jacob embraced his own AABC journey as a bass from 2014 to 2018.

During his tenure in the concert chorus, Jacob went on several tours, including to Asia in 2016 and 2018, and to Canada in 2017. Those formative years instilled in him invaluable qualities: discipline, self-confidence, and an unwavering work ethic.

A pivotal moment in Jacob’s journey came during the AABC 2017 Spring Midwest Tour. While visiting the University of Nebraska, he stood on the iconic football field at Memorial Stadium, dreaming of one day playing there. Fast forward to today—Jacob is living that dream as Linebacker #54 for the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

This past season, he and his team celebrated a major victory at the Pinstripe Bowl in New York City, showcasing the determination and resilience he cultivated during his time in the Chorus.

But Jacob’s aspirations extend beyond the gridiron. That same tour took the Chorus to visit International Jet Aviation Services, co-owned by former AABC board member Lynn Krogh. Jacob’s experience during this visit ignited a passion for the skies. Whether building planes or piloting them, Jacob envisions a future in aviation. He’s currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Nebraska, determined to make this second dream soar.

Jacob’s AABC experience is a testament to the transformative power of music, mentorship, and opportunity. From performing on international stages to gracing the cover of the AABC’s California Dreamin’ album, Jacob’s story is a celebration of how the Chorus helps young men achieve greatness.
